the newest american for #july4th

about a month ago, the husband became a long-waited u.s.a. citizen! [i must say, he is one of the most proud citizens there is.]
this fourth of july, we finally put up an american flag (since, obviously, the whole household is now american), and celebrated with rocket pops, fireworks, grilling, and working on the nursery to welcome the newest american to come...
here are a few pictures from his naturalization day and from our fourth of july this year.

this was the day of his citizenship test, right after he found out that he passed!
day of naturalization.
92 people took the oath that day, representing 26 countries.
look at that proud face!
taking the oath.
and after a momentous day like that, you celebrate, naturally. with an all-American feast; corn on the cob, macaroni salad, coleslaw, corn casserole, hotdogs, hamburgers, watermelon, out of the box cupcakes (but with homemade frosting...), and an oreo cake with the american flag. but, of course!

a bit from our fourth of july this year.
fireworks courtesy of 4th on flagler.
it's no secret that the best cheesecake comes from no other place than...
...costco. period.
the crowd. love it.
